Finished Into the Valley yesterday while "working" with hubby yesterday at the jewelry store. With all the rain there wasn't much business unforunately.
The book was a guilty pleasure. Easy, fast moving and some of the romance stuff. And actually, it didn't turn out like I thought it would, which is always nice.
The books is a historical romance set during the Revolutionary War. It focuses on Annie, a young bride (16!) who has no time to enjoy being a newlywed because the war is brought home to them on her wedding day. The rest is the conflict of losing those around her and almost dieing herself and coming to terms with the changing times. It's a nice summer read.
Next it's onto an Oprah's Book Club selection, Cane River by Lalita Tademy . None of the book club books are easy or light so this one should take a little longer to read which is OK because I have been reading so many easy books recently. I'll let you know how it turns out.
